Please Note - Nations University offers the following online degrees: Bachelor of Religious Studies, Master of Religious Studies, and Master of Divinity. Unlike other colleges and universities, Nations charges students a flat rate of $100 per year for administrative costs, and then offers the courses tuition-free. Many courses are based on materials that can be obtained freely, though some do require the purchase of textbooks, which may be bought second-hand, online.
It is important to understand that Nations University is NOT accredited; though as of 2010, it is seeking accreditation through the DETC. For now, it is prudent to assume most other colleges and universities will not accept Nations courses or degrees for transfer.
There is also the Dimensions of the Faith at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary program, which offers 10 free courses. Upon passing all of the courses, a certificate is awarded.
Finally, The Worldwide-Classroom, a part of Covenant Theological Seminary, offers more than 20 free courses in topics such as Christian Ethics, Old Testament History, and Apologetics and Outreach, but note that they require textbook purchases.
Students who are interested in furthering their Biblical and religious studies in a more formalized manner may be interested in utilizing one or more of these programs. (A high school diploma or equivalent is a pre-requisite of registration at Nations University.)
